Investigation of Cytotoxic and Antiproliferative Effects of Mesobuthus gibbosus (Scorpiones: Buthidae) Crude Scorpion Venom on Cancer Cell Lines

GİRİŞ ve AMAÇ: Akrep zehirleri çeşitli kimyasal maddelerin oluşturduğu oldukça kompleks heterojen karışımlardır. Bu çalışmada, bir akrep türü Mesobuthus gibbosus (Brullé, 1832) (Scorpiones: Buthidae)’un ham zehrinin kanser hücre hatları üzerine sitotoksik antiproliferatif etkileri araştırılmıştır. YÖNTEM GEREÇLER: M. gibbosus’dan elde edilen zehrin iki insan hattı (MCF-7 meme kanseri A549 akciğer karsinomu) normal fare fibroblast (L929) hücreleri üzerindeki çalışılmış veriler literatür ışığında karşılaştırılmıştır. BULGULAR: Çalışmada, MCF-7 L929 düşük dozlarda bile etkisi proliferasyonunu inhibe ettiği gözlenmiştir. Aynı yöntemlerle karsinomu nispeten zayıf olarak gözlemlenmiştir. TARTIŞMA SONUÇ: gözlenmiştir ancak bu hücrelerinin eden zehir bileşen veya bileşenlerinin belirlenmesi için ileri çalışmalara ihtiyaç vardır.
